Changes to the SWRDA Contest Rules for 2007 |
|
| 1. | In the event of a protest, the overseer has the
option to use the World
Swing Dance Council point system or America's
Amateur Novice Tour Championships to determine the proper classification,
or reclassification, of a contestant. |
| 2. | First Place Winners of the Novice and Intermediate
Strictly Swing contests may dance that contest in future
competitions, but must compete with a different partner; two-time
champions of a Novice or Intermediate Strictly Swing contest
may no longer compete in that contest. |
| 3. | Novice or Intermediate dancers who place first a single contest are no longer required to move up to the next level. Dancers are simply not qualified to dance that specific contest again (see new strictly swing qualifications). Therefore, a dancer who wins first place in a Novice or Intermediate Routine contest can dance Strictly Swing if still qualified. Or a dancer who wins at Novice or Intermediate Strictly Swing may dance the Routine contest if still qualified. Novice or Intermediate dancers may work at winning both the Routine and SS contests before moving up to the next level. (See new Strictly Swing qualifications above.) |
| 4. | A contestant must dance the same class all weekend—this includes Jack and Jill contests. |
