Frequently Asked Questions for the State Contest

This Page is under Construction...check back real soon for more information.
However, most answers can be found in the OKSSDA Articles.

Q: Do I have to have a Weekend Ticket to compete in any contest?
A: For most contests, yes.  You must also be a member of an OKSSDA club.  However, the exception is Jack & Jill contests.  Since the J&J contests are not a sanctioned contest, anyone may enter (with or without a weekend ticket and members or non-members).
Q: What are the differences between Jack & Jill, Strictly Swing and Routine contests?
A: Great Question!  The simple answer is this: in a Jack and Jill, you sign-up as a leader or follower-- your partner and the music are selected for you on the dance floor; in a Strictly Swing, you sign up with a partner as a couple and the music is selected for you on the dance floor; in a routine contest, you sign up with a partner and provide your own music.  For a more comprehensive description, See Jack & Jill and Strictly Swing Tips to Remember.
